From Apple to Taxi, greenest city:) New Taxicabs are Green, Literally
The color of the city’s new taxi for boroughs outside Manhattan was unveiled Sunday by Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, and in the mayor’s eyes the hue was an “apple green.”
“We think ‘apple green’ is attractive and distinctive,” he said at a news conference at City Hall. “It’s easy on the eyes and easy to pick out from a distance in traffic.”

PS1, Summer season´s is opened
The nylon air-cleansing concept that won MoMa PS1’s 2012 Young Architects Program, Wendy is now set to grace the Long Island City museum’s courtyard during the forthcoming summer months. Designed by New York-based architecture firm HWKN, the project aims to test the potential of architecture for ecological and social impact. Treated with a innovative titania nanoparticle spray to neutralize airborne pollutants, during its time at MoMA PS1 Wendy is projected to eat a quantity of smog equivalent to removing 260 cars from the road.

Wendy does not play the typical architecture game of ecological apology - instead she is pro-active. That is why Wendy is composed of fabric treated with a ground breaking titania nanoparticle spray to neutralize airborne pollutants. During the summer of 2012 Wendy will clean the air to an equivalent of taking 260 cars off the road. The courtyard at MoMA PS1 will be activated by tools like shade, wind, rain, music, and visual identity to reach beyond her envelope. Wendy’s spiky arms reach out with micro-programs like blasts of cool air, music, water canons and mists to create social zones throughout the courtyard.

The NoMad Hotel. Frenc Style in NYC center.
NoMad Hotel the Andrew Zobler’s newest lifestyle hotel. Zobler, who is also responsible for the Ace Hotel across the street, was initially drawn to the distinct architecture along that section of Broadway.

Using the Beaux-Arts style facade of the newly opened NoMad Hotel as inspiration for the interior, Zobler tapped French architect Jacques Garcia to complete his vision.

The luxury component of the NoMad is the simplicity in the sophistication with a feeling of eternity.
