“In Plain Sight,” the The Street Museum of Art (SMoA) is challenging the notion of sequestering street art to a museum by bringing the museum out to the streets. Featuring work from artists like Sweet Toot, Paul Richard, and Elle, the streets of Williamsburg are currently lined with a variety of accessible pieces.

“In Plain Sight” is on view in Williamsburg through Fall 2012.

Gorgeous retrospective of the Italian artis. Roberta Smith of the New York Times writes: “Mr. Cattelan’s entire artistic output, excepting two works whose owners declined to lend them, hangs in a gigantic distended mass from cables connected to an aluminum truss near the top of the museum’s rotunda.”

Remembering “Design 1935-1965: What Modern Was”, it was opened in 1991, the accompanying 424-page catalog startled the industry with its declaration that the Modern period was over, and should, from that point, be spoken about in the past tense.
Prada & Schiaparelli will have a “conversation” at MET
