MAX FISH, o el fin de un clásico…
Kelefa Sanneh writes in new yorker about the art-world scene at the Lower East Side bar Max Fish. In this video Ulli Rimkus, the owner of Max Fish, gives a tour of the art on its walls and considers the future of her business.
The Trilby, new openning in Cooper Square Hotel
The Trilby, the clubby, loungey, somewhat mysterious new restaurant and bar in the Cooper Square Hotel, and the successor to both Faustina and Table 8, opened to the public Friday.
You’ll want to incorporate this spot as a before, after or in-between option for when you find yourself turned around in the Bowery. A place where you’ll order up the namesake cocktail (scotch, sweet vermouth and Parfait d’Amour), pair it with some Mini Short Rib Sandwichesand make yourself at home on a broken-in vintage couch for a few hours.

INCUBATOR LOCAL TALENT!!
The long-running basement comedy show at Lolita, Tell Your Friends, is now the subject of an independent concert film.
Tell Your Friends has been around for five years, and was recently shifted to Tuesday night performances. The show is a great little neighborhood event which serves as a perfect incubator for local talent.

Lolita is at 266 Broome Street.
STEAMPUNK. First Look at Way Station, Bringing Steampunk-Victorian Good Times to Prospect Heights
As soon as Andy Heidl gets the Department of Buildings to sign off, he’ll open Way Station, a Victorian-meets-steampunk drinkery…. Doctor Who nerds fans will want to drink as much as possible from the specialty cocktail list, the oftener to visit the TARDIS, the blue police call box/time machine from the show, which conceals the bar’s restroom.
The venue will also host live music performances four nights a week, mostly “old-timey” jazz and blues. Check out our slideshow for a glimpse of the 70-person space, complete with tufted red banquettes, ersatz Victorian “gyro” fans, and burgundy fleur de lis wallpaper, mingling with steampunk artwork and ray guns.
